A renewed welcome for new colleagues

ANWB is constantly on the move. Due to various changes within the organization in recent years, the existing onboarding module was no longer current. The desire: a fresh, modern solution that is current, visually appealing and appropriate for a diverse target group.

With the renewed onboarding module, ANWB wants to introduce new employees to the organization. The onboarding shows what ANWB stands for, gives a clear picture of the organization (parts) and offers an insight into the experiences of (future) colleagues and customers. This way, new employees are welcomed in an enthusiastic way and are motivated to work for the organization.

Learning path with interactive animations and microlearnings

The onboarding module ‘Welcome to ANWB’ consists of a series of short learning interventions that can be followed flexibly and at your own pace. In two interactive animations, participants take a journey through the world of ANWB. During the first trip, a virtual assistant takes them around the organization in an iD4 van. Participants discover who ANWB is, what it does and what it stands for. The second trip takes them through ANWB’s rich history. Participants get in (or on) a classic vehicle and visit ten important milestones – from its founding in 1883 to its transformation into a platform organization in 2023. During this journey, they discover how these key events have influenced today’s ANWB. For each milestone completed, participants will receive an “upgrade” to their vehicle as a reward.

To complement the interactive animations, we developed six microlearnings, each focusing on one business unit. In each microlearning, participants get a brief picture of what the business unit is, what they do and what they stand for. Colleagues also share personal work stories and customers talk about their experiences with the business unit in question.

By combining interactive animations and microlearnings, the onboarding module has become the organization’s calling card: a modern, inviting and inspiring start that connects new employees, motivates them and makes them proud to work for ANWB.
